Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I go about getting a price quote on a foam wing?

A: TdL needs all of the design specifications, including the exact dimensions of the wing/plane to be constructed. You may e-mail the specifications to us, but we prefer that you call (818-652-9366) and speak with us briefly about the job to be done so that we can be confident that we understand exactly what the customer wants.

Q: How many, and which, channels are on your electric racers?

A: There are three channels (ailerons, elevator, and throttle).

Q: I just saw your P-40 in the latest issue of FLY RC and am interested in the plane. What type of setup are you running this plane with direct drive or gearbox for best scale like performance? Can you fit an outrunner motor in it? If it is a gearbox do you recommend a straight in line gear box or offset one? What type of motor/esc combo do you sell for this plane?

A: The kits operate on direct drive. You can fit an outrunner motor in the P-40 and the Yak. The motor combo we are offering is a SPEED 400 6V 20 amp. controller, with 840 milliamp Ni-MH battery. The price is $89.95.

Q: I saw the advertisement photos of TdL's Scale Electric ARF plane kits, but can you please send me some actual photos of the finished kit(s).

A: Sure we can e-mail you some more photos; however, please note that the photos you see in the advertisement are actual, undoctored photos of the built planes. I know, they look too good to be true (especially at such a cheap price), but the photos are real. We took them right here.

Q: Please send me your catalogue.

A: Thank you for the interest! We are in the process right now of creating our catalog. We don’t have anything to send out at the moment.. For now, you're welcome to browse our Web site and to call anytime if you have any specific questions about our products and services (818-652-9366).

Q: Do the kits come with building instructions?

A: Yes, each kit comes with its own, easy-to-follow instructions manual.

Q: How can I purchase one of your RC plane kits?

A: You can visit us on our Web site and use the shopping cart feature; you can order over the telephone by calling our shop at 818-652-9366, or you can mail your order and payment to TDL Model Systems, 7500 Tyrone Avenue Van Nuys, CA 91405.

Q: Does TdL accept Paypal payments?

A: Yes, you are more than welcome to order with us any way you'd like and then pay for your order via PayPal at tony@tdlinfo.com.

Q: We would be interested in offering your line of RC planes to our customers if they are quality kits. From what I can tell they are. Are you interested in providing planes to dealers?

A: We’d be happy to do business with you, and with any other dealers who are interested. In order to get the dealer price, we require a minimum of eight kits to be purchased (all at once or over time). We also ask that you complete and return the attached “sellers form”. Dealers will be sent the dealer price list upon completion of the "sellers' form".

Q: I am a dealer, and I would love to carry your kits. They are such good quality, so I don't imagine having any problems selling them. Nevertheless, for my protection, will you provide your kits to my Hobby Shop on consigment? In other word, will you send me your kits and allow me to pay TdL when they sell?

A: Absolutely. All we ask is that you complete the sellers' form for tax purposes, and then you are more than welcome to order the kits on consignment. Unsold kits may be returned to TdL.

Q: Can you send my order to me COD?

A: Yes we can ship COD; however, UPS typically charges $7.00 extra (in addition to the regular shipping cost) to ship COD. The customer must cover this expense.
